Pierce Warnecke, world-acclaimed video artist and musician, has a resume that reads like a list of nearly every important international music and arts institution in the world. He’s presented his work at events like SXSW Interactive, Transmediale and CTM, and he’s collaborated with the likes of Raster-Noton legend Frank Bretschneider.
He also manages to find the time to make exceptional video clips, like this one for Orphan Swords‘ “Asmoday”. Featuring a jagged contrast between rapid editing and immolated slow-motion shots of obscure images, the video is a totally perfect, schizophrenic rendering of the tension built in the song over the course of its 5 minutes.
This one is for headphones and full-screen only.
Orphan Swords are part of SHAPE – The Platform for Innovative Music and Audiovisual Art from Europe.
