Watch David Bowie Predict Today's Internet In 1999

“It’s an alien life form that just landed.”

Back in 1999, the BBC interviewed a gloriously unkempt David Bowie about the dawn of the internet. His meditations on this new “utility” as he put it, revealed a sophisticated understanding of the epochal shift that was about to occur at the dawn of the millennium.

His thoughts in the interview all seem pretty prophetic from today’s perspective. We got chills when he said, “We’re on the cusp of something exhilarating and terrifying.” Watch the whole interview below.
