Watch A Man Jam With A Synth In An Ancient Italian Cave
These strange electronic sounds are well-suited for San Giovanni d’Antro’s beautiful underground sanctuary.
Generally speaking, when we think of caves, we tend to think of bats, hard hats and stalactites—or techno clubs, like Tresor. That’s why this video of a man jamming out with his modular synth rig in a cave stood out to us: it combines both facets of our cave fantasies. Scientist, composer and sound artist Alberto Novello descended into the ancient holy cave of San Giovanni d’Antro in Italy, which was once used as a place of Christian worship. He used his modular system to channel the energy of the space by producing odd whirrs and strange noises completely appropriate for the performance’s mystical backdrop. Check it out below.
