The brutalist techno atmospheres of Shapednoise are a fitting match for some solid A/V aesthetics, so we try to make it out whenever the two combine. We (and possibly you) are in luck, then, as the Berlin-based producer is presenting an epic showcase for his label Cosmo Rhythmatic this Friday at Polymorphism, the CTM-initiated transgressive club night/concert series. Along with a stacked lineup including Mika Vainio and Xosar, Shapednoise and video artist sYn will be bringing their live “Metaphysical” show to Berghain’s stage, a hypnotic blend of MRI and CT body scans, iconography and Shapednoise’s dystopian soundtrack.

“‘What is it like?’, an offshoot from the live A/V performance ‘Metaphysical’, further explores the language of scientific analytical imagery and representations of the physical world first developed in the live show,” says Nino, the mind behind Shapednoise. “Triggered by realtime sound analysis and processed live via MAX/MSP and Quartz Composer, the visual landscape jerks and glitches through cut and shattered bodies.”

Get a preview of this beautiful madness above with our exclusive premiere of Shapednoise and sYn’s “What is it like?”, and be sure to catch Nino’s new CSLM EP on Cosmo Rhythmatic EP with Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Grischa Lichtenberger.
