Spotify Now Features Songs That Only Play When It's Raining

How about some geotargeting with that mood playlist of yours?

Is there terrible weather where you are? Look on the bright side: at least you can hear songs that nobody gets to hear in sunnier climes.

Spotify now makes certain songs available based on nearby weather conditions. Using geotargeting technology, Spotify will make White Denim’s new song “No Nee Ta Slode Aln” available only when rainfall is detected within the vicinity of the listener. The reason for this unique approach is tied up in a North Face advertisement. But while that company is using it to sell high-end rain coats, this idea opens the gates to all types of uniquely geotargetted songs, albums and playlists. The future looks good.
