Thom Yorke To Score Remake Of Synthy Horror Classic, 'Suspiria'

This one is sure to give us the creeps.

In news that is almost too good to be true, Thom Yorke has been locked in to compose a soundtrack for the remake of one of the world’s great cult horror films, Suspiria.

Forty years later, Dario Argento’s film is still one of Italian cinema’s most highly celebrated oeuvres, and the Radiohead frontman will be given the opportunity to imbue the remake with the same haunting eeriness as the original. Director Luca Guadagnino has described the chance to work with Yorke as “a dream come true.” The musician is a true a master at crafting subtle, unsettling atmospheres across his work with Radiohead as well as in his solo material, and we can’t wait to hear how Yorke will manage to spook us this time.

Acquaint yourself with the original film and its soundtrack below. The score was composed by the seminal band Goblin. Its tense, brooding and synth-laden electronics make this vintage piece a masterpiece in its own right.
