It was only a matter of time before some crack team of engineers would figure out how to almost exactly replicate the TR-808 for modular synthesizer heads. Behold, The System 80, an absolute beauty of a Eurorack module. It sports an incredibly familiar control-for-control, button-for-button TR-808-style layout. It has individual outs for each sound and on-board MIDI (which, as you probably know, was not included on the original). It’s also open source.
