The Model:Samples will be available in February for €460.

Elektron are set to release a new sample-based groovebox called Model:Samples next month.

The new machine is Elektron’s most accessible to date, with all the controls to shape, record and sequence the 300 preset samples on offer available directly on the front panel.

Weighing in at less than one kilogram, the Model:Samples packs some serious punch into its lightweight frame. Sounds from six different tracks can be played simultaneously, either triggered by hand or programmed into a 64-step sequencer with parameter lock. The groovebox also features a chromatic mode for writing basslines and melodies, plus the ability to load 6 new samples into a programmed pattern on the fly to experiment with different sound combinations.

Model:Samples will be available in February for €460, making it the most affordable machine to date from the company lauded for their highly popular Octratrack and Analog Four machines. Check out the promo video for the groovebox above, and head to the Elektron website for more details
