Watch A Teaser For Jeff Mills’ New Sci-Fi Techno Epic

The concept album will be released on Axis Records next month.

Jeff Mills’ production style has always harbored leanings towards science fiction, modernism and futuristic black funk. His forthcoming record, Planets, is an outgrowth of this tendency. The “electronic classical” album will pay tribute to Gustav Holst’s 1916 orchestral score, The Planets, through nine modern interpretations of the original suites. Each piece is dedicated to a planet or to the interstitial regions between them. The album will appear on CD and Blu-ray on Axis Records this March. It will be premiered at The Barbican in London in June. Check out a teaser for the LP below.
